Description

Modernistic Garden and Pet Supply was established in 1961 by Mr. Benjamin Roberts. In 2003 the business was bought by Mr. James Thompson and his family. It has continued to grow over the years with improvements that include a larger store space in Palmdale with a new tank wall featuring over 700 gallons of fish space. The business expanded again this year in April opening a new location in the Johns Plaza on Carmichael Rd.

Our goal as a business is to serve The Bahamian public with quality service and products. Our aim is to have everything that your pet or garden needs at prices to fit any and every budget. We carry a full line of products for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, turtles and fish. Our nursery is stocked with indoor and outdoor plants including palms, mangoes, avocados, sour sop, sugar apple, rose bushes, and many more.

We serve you the people, and are constantly trying to improve our business to serve you even better. The company is currently managed by Mr. Thompsons youngest son, Anthony Thompson and his wife, Patou Thompson.

Cat scratcher sliced my cats paw

I ordered a cat scratcher here recently. My cats paw was sliced and bleeding. I then saw the cat scratcher had done this. As the carpet was adhered to the base by staples. All cat scratchers should use glue for safety. I contacted the store and they said “Good day, I'm sorry about your cat. We've never had any feedback on the scratching posts overtime, so we'll keep that in consideration with different types of cat furniture we stock in the future.” The fact they didn’t state we will remove these items and thank you is highly unprofessional and dangerous. I don’t believe this coming any cares about the welfare of animals, they are simply quick to make a dollar. Sad.
