Ring swap/fake diamonds

My boyfriend and I wanted to purchase a nice ring for our engagement. We were shown a very beautiful ring setting and lab grown diamond. We decided to go with this setting and lab grown diamond. Once we decided on this set, the salesman Kamahal said they would be bringing the diamond to the store for him to set into the setting. He reassured us it would be set in the store and would fit perfectly. Little to our knowledge they took the ring setting, and left the lab grown diamond and replaced it with a fake stone. They quickly steamed the ring to make it look shiny. Once we got back to ship we took it to the jeweler on the ship. They there said it was a moissanite ring, and we should have details on the kind of stone they sold us. Once back in the states we took it to our local jewely store and they also confirmed that the stone was moissanite. It was not clear and had rainbow colors of a low quality stone. The store has refused to help with a refund, and has threatened us if we write a bad review. Buyers beware of this jeweler in the Bahamas. They want to make you feel comfortable and then take advantage of you.

Bait and Switch

Bought jewelry. Told 14-karat gold but ended up being gold plated sterling silver. Also bought a yellow gold ring and one year later the gold layer had worn off and now it's white gold!! Disputed with my credit card company and Ricky the owner and brother Kevin provided manufactured invoices with my husband's signature forged!! So much more to say. A definite Comedy of Errors! When we disputed with our credit card company we won. We will never buy jewelry outside the USA again.
