HIV/AIDS long-term Survivor Kevin returned to the Bahamas after living abroad for more than two decades. After enrolling in clinical treatment and getting to know other persons affected with HIV/AIDS, Kevin formed a support group fostering open discussions relative to their primary mental and physical condition. Through these discussions he became familiar with some of their personal struggles such as having no transportation for clinic appointments. Many of these patients were depressed, finding themselves with no hope or help. Kevin was deeply moved by their need and knew that there was something he could do.

After much research with Dr. Wiona Pratt they decided to form an organization and named it “Project Hope Bahamas Committee” now known as “HIV/AIDS Survivors Benefit G.B.” (HASB) which was founded February 6th, 2013.

Our aim is to educate and to improve on the quality of life for persons living with this condition. To work in conjunction with other organizations with similar objectives as it relates to HIV/AIDS.
