The Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled (BAPD) exists to provide the best possible service to young people in the community with special needs, through the provision of daycare, special education, physical therapy, computer training, and speech therapy, in an environment dedicated to promoting self-esteem, improved social skills, and functionally independent living wherever possible.
The Rotary Club of East Nassau (RCEN) has been providing wheelchairs through their Wheelchair Foundation, which was founded by Sir Durward Knowles. The RCEN has been supporting the Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled for many years.
