The business model here is to rent you older, not well-maintained carts and then charge you for repairs when they break down. We rented a golf cart for a week. The roads here are very bumpy and full of potholes. 5 days into the trip, the leaf spring broke on the front passenger side when we were going under 10 mph and edged a minor pothole. We had no steering and ended up in the ditch. The wheel had bent completely under the cart! Fortunately no one was hurt. The owner, Marilyn, incorrectly told us we could go on into town and she would file a police report. That is not correct, and she knew that the police would not be happy with us for doing so. She did not witness the accident but told the police officer we were reckless. (He did not believe her once he interviewed us, thankfully). The next day she wanted over $500 for repairs and towing, and that she was being generous in not charging us for the downtime (even though the rental agreement doesn't cover that). We countered that this was a part that simply wore out. It was an 8 year old cart! We eventually gave up and paid 400 as we were leaving the next day. Bottom line: you are risking an accident if you rent a cart, and you will be paying for repairs this company should make in the first place. If it steers a little off or has weak brakes like ours did, or if you get one with bald tires (like the one 2nd one Seaside gave us) make them note it, or make them give you a better cart. And if you end up in a ditch or would, don't believe them. Stay until the police come so they hear the truth from you.
