Description

The North Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is part of the Worldwide Church of Seventh-day Adventists. It was organized as a in January 2003 when the Bahamas Conference was divided in two administrative fields for growth and expansion of the church and its work in the Bahamas.

The Mission was officially inaugurated on June 27, 2003, when the first Mission session was held. Prior to its establishment, the North Bahamas Mission was aligned as the Northern Region of the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

The North Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists consist of islands in the Northern Bahamas: Grand Bahama, The Abaco islands, the Berry Islands, and the Bimini Islands.

The headquarters for the Mission is located on the industrial Grand Bahama Island (population of 55,000, 580 sq miles) with Freeport as the main industrial city. The total population for these islands is about 80,000. There are eleven Adventist Churches with membership of over 2,550. See Churches

In addition, the Conference also has one educational institution: Grand Bahama Academy, which serves the church and community at large.
