11-year-old dead after apparent accidental shooting

An 11-year-old boy was shot and killed in Andros on Saturday morning as he and his nine-year-old cousin reportedly played with a licensed firearm, police said.
Police could not confirm if it was the nine-year-old who pulled the trigger.

20K stolen from Haitian Embassy

Thieves broke into the Haitian Embassy on Shirley Street over the weekend and stole two safes containing approximately $20,000, embassy officials said yesterday.
Police said they believe the burglars gained access to the complex after breaking the locks off the door at the rear of the embassy.
An employee reportedly noticed the door was open when he arrived around 8 a.m. yesterday.

CIBC FirstCaribbean suffers temporary system shutdown

CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank (Bahamas) customers countrywide were unable to access their money for a portion of yesterday after the bank's system suffered a failure.
