You hear a whole lot of people talking about security today. So, let me ask you a simple question which I remember well my mentor, Earl Nightingale, asking his students in a recorded message. Now, here's the question, "What is security?" I honestly believe that if you were to ask that simple question "What is security?" of a whole lot of people, you'd get a great variety of answers, and I believe that most of them would be dead wrong.
Some people would no doubt say, security to me is having a good job with a reputable company who have a good pension plan. Others would say, that security to me is having an adequate amount of money in the bank on fixed deposit. Others may say that security is having a nice home fully paid for, or security is having a good health insurance program through my employer. And I believe we could go on and on getting a great variety of ideas from others as to what constitutes their concept of security.
Well my friend, here's what Earl Nightingale stated on this subject. Earl said, "The only kind of real security which anyone can have is what's within oneself." Oh how absolutely correct he obviously was with those words of wisdom. After all, we can and so many often do, lose all of the material objects which we so often refer to incorrectly as being security, jobs, homes, money, etc. However, when we know that we have talent and the ability to do great things in life, even though we may not have too much in the way of material wealth, we will be secure in the true sense of the word and will thus eventually succeed at everything which we undertake in life.
Yes indeed, real security, the type which lasts is within. Security is a strong inner knowing of exactly who we are which is an awesomely talented, special and indeed unique child of God. Once we possess this spiritual knowledge which is deeply imbedded in our consciousness, we are secure in the true sense of the word.
Yes, one can be financially depleted and yet feel totally secure as you know in an extremely positive way, that you will be successful at what you're doing. So, please make absolutely sure that you at all times are fully aware of the absolute truth contained in the title of today's article "Security is Within." And if by chance you do not possess this real security, there's absolutely no way for you to eventually succeed in life.
