LAWYERS representing several College of the Bahamas faculty members claimed yesterday that the college had acted unlawfully and without authorisation in making salary deductions following a government sanctioned strike in April.
COB's attorneys countered by arguing that the college had discharged its obligation in providing faculty members with notice of the consequences of strike action and relied on the principle of "No work, no pay."
The case, which involves 11 COB faculty members contesting the legality of pay cuts following a three-and-a half day strike in April, began in Magistrate's Court yesterday.
