An exciting weekend lies ahead for the Nassau 'Nastics team of competitive gymnasts. These young athletes will be traveling to Orlando, Florida, to attend not one but two very large gymnastics meets.
The Presidential Classic Gymnastics Invitational and the Magical Classic Gymnastics Invitational are both concurrently being held in Orlando, this weekend. Four coaches and 12 gymnasts from the Nassau 'Nastics gymnastics club will be participating in not one, but both gymnastics meets.
It will be a very busy weekend for the team and coaches, parents and gymnasts. The gymnasts will have to be on their toes and stick to the rigid scheduling which lies ahead this weekend. The Presidential Classic, held at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, is a competition which Nassau 'Nastics has been attending regularly for over a decade. This gymnastics meet is one of the largest in the United States. The organizers of the 2014 Presidential Classic boast registration of 2,800 gymnasts representing nine countries.
However, this will be the first time that Nassau 'Nastics team members will be attending the Magical Classic Gymnastics Invitational, hosted at the Orange County Convention Center, also in Orlando, Florida.
This meet, now in its 22nd year, expects 1,500 gymnasts from five countries to be in attendance. The gymnasts are all excited and have expectations of doing very well. They are in the middle of their competition season, just recently having competed right here at home at the Atlantis Crown Gymnastics Invitational in December on Paradise Island. They still have a few more meets extending to late April, and are all looking ahead to having a very successful competition season.
