The 28th Family Guardian Swim Meet will be held at the Betty Kelly-Kenning National Aquatics Centre on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2, 2013. For over 27 years, Family Guardian, a leading financial provider in The Bahamas, has partnered and supported the Barracuda Swim Club and continues to help build the sport of swimming in The Bahamas.
Dion Gibson, president of the Barracuda Swim Club, said: "Swimming is stronger than ever in The Bahamas and has rapidly been growing in popularity and participation over the years. We are grateful to Family Guardian who has been with us for over 27 years. We look forward to this continued relationship with Family Guardian for their support of our club and the sport of swimming."
Gibson went on to say, "This meet will provide swimmers with an opportunity to qualify for the Speedo Winter Championships which will be held in Plantation, Florida, from November 21-24, 2013. The Barracuda Swim Club has already entered over 25 swimmers who have qualified and we look forward to adding to this number after the Family Guardian Invitational Meet this weekend."
The Barracuda Swim Club is a non-profit, parent-run organization that has been dedicated for many years to building the youth of the nation through the sport of swimming. The club continues to ensure that the sport grows for generations to come as it guides and builds young champions who have a passion and determination to be Olympians.
The public is invited to come out and experience the excitement of a swim meet by supporting the swimmers this Friday evening starting at 6 p.m. and Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. at the Betty Kelly-Kenning complex.
