The 1961-1962 season in the Bahamas Baseball Association (BBA) was a banner one indeed. The I-Need-A-Laundry (formerly Penny Bankers) dynasty was winding down gloriously.
I-Need-A-Laundry won the league title with a 12-2 record edging St. Bernard's 11-3 effort. Also, I-Need-A-Laundry captured the Nassau Bicycle Company and the Lionel Rodgers Memorial Awards, significant of being the outright top team in the BBA. St. Bernard's won the Wilson Shoe & Repair Shop Trophy and the Sportsmanship Award went to Standard Plumbing Company.

Bahamian Lumber finished the season third with a 9-5 record, followed by Burns House at 8-7, H.G. Christie at 7-8, Mutual Development at 4-10, Standard Plum ...
