Atlantis Takes The Wedding Experience To The Next Level

Atlantis, Paradise Island is taking the wedding experience at the resort property up a notch with the construction of a brand new $1.2m wedding venue, complete with an indoor wedding pavilion, ocean-side beach deck and event lawn, overlooking Paradise Beach. The new wedding space is expected to provide would-be brides and grooms with not only another beautiful location to host their special day, but the option of having the ceremony and reception in a more elaborate and upscale venue.

According to VP of Weddings & Special Affairs Anna Schmid, the idea for this latest venture was borne out of the necessity to keep up with an ever-growing wedding business. Resort officials say last year some 385 weddings were hosted on property between Atlantis and One&Only Ocean Club, adding that even more could have been done.

“We were running out of spaces to get married and so the demand was outweighing the supply. In our discussions, we agreed that we wanted to create something that could take us to the next level and deliver a more premium experience to potential brides and grooms; we wanted to create a very versatile space that would be complimented by the natural beauty of the location and give couples the flexibility for whatever they wanted to do,” she explains.

With construction set to be completed by the end of October and weddings set to be hosted at the new site as early as November, couples – both local and those visiting from abroad – wanting that ‘more premium experience’ need only to contact the Love Atlantis office via telephone (1-888-528-9758) or online at www.loveatlantis.com to book the space.

Pleased with the progress for the new wedding space, President & Managing Director George Markantonis says, “It’s really amazing. I think it could become Nassau’s premier wedding location.”

Imagine being able to choose to have your ceremony and reception indoors inside the pavilion or outdoors on either the event lawn or the beach deck and still have an amazing backdrop of golden sunrays glistening on a sea of aquamarine, which lay just beyond miles of silky white sandy beach and elegant palm trees swaying to and fro to the beat of a soft, delightful breeze, as well as a higher food & beverage minimum… Now, doesn’t that sound delightful?

Atlantis’ Weddings & Special Affairs Department currently has a staff of nine talented individuals to help couples plan the most memorable wedding experience ever. Weddings held at the new site are open to both locals and guests from overseas, with a room night minimum of 10 rooms for three nights. The pavilion area will be able to accommodate about 100 persons for a ceremony and about 50 for a reception, while the beach deck can hold close to 200 for a ceremony and about 180 for a reception. Should a couple want to use the whole area for one big event, Schmid says up to 300 people can be accommodated.
