111 nurses graduate in critical healthcare services

One hundred and eleven registered nurses (RNs) graduated Thursday from three critical health care services platforms including critical care, ophthalmic and perioperative nursing.
Graduates from the 2012/2013 Master Mentorship Class also received certificates for completion of their courses.
Eighteen nurses completed the 12-month long Critical Care Nursing Program which focused on equipping them with the skills, knowledge and attitude to care for very ill patients with complex health challenges.
Nine nurses graduated from the Ophthalmic Nursing Program which focused on eye care testing, treatment and services. Eight nurses completed the Perioperative Nursing Program which focuses on managing the operating theaters with specific focus on patient safety.
The evening also saw the graduation of 77 Public Hospitals Authority personnel - spanning several healthcare levels in the Master Mentorship Class.
The Master Mentorship Program is designed to provide mentorship, evaluation and critical assessment of healthcare services in the country.
The courses are all Royal College of Nursing accredited. The Public Hospitals Authority established accreditation with the RCN in 2008.
