Man dies after shooting outside bar

A man was shot and killed outside a local bar early yesterday morning, according to police.

Police said the 40-year-old victim of Balls Alley was shot multiple times at a club on Bay Street and Armstrong Street.

The incident reportedly stemmed from an altercation between the victim and a group of men around 2:55 a.m. After being shot, the man was taken to hospital by private vehicle where he was pronounced dead.

He is the 63rd murder victim for the year.

Over the weekend there were three murders in two separate incidents.

The first two victims were killed during an armed robbery early Saturday morning near the intersection of Wulff Road and Collins Avenue, police reported.

The second incident involved the murder of a man stabbed on Sunday morning in the Carmichael Road area. In other crime news, police said a 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on Sunday.

The victim, of Wulff Road, was at a bar and grill in Gambier Village around 11:30 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown man who then shot him, according to police.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Police are appealing to anyone with information on any of these matters to come forward and contact them at 328-TIPS.
