Miss Grand Bahama Evening Gown and Swim Suit Competition Dazzles

Wed, Jun 5th 2013, 12:30 PM

The Miss Grand Bahama Beauty pageant held an evening of elegance, poise mixed with plenty of sex-appeal as the 6 lovely contestants showed off their fine forms in swimwear and their evening gown selections on May 18th at the beautiful Grand Bahama Yacht Club.

Each contestant had a moment of fame as she walked the poolside runway to show off the evening gown she personally selected to give this year's judges another angle of each young hopeful. "The contestant's evening gowns should reflect their personalities," said Glenn Davis, President, Miss Grand Bahama Beauty Pageant organization. "They all choose a color that they love and a designer that shows off their best sides."

The contestant guidelines for the selection of their gown is that it should be designed to allow for the legs to move freely, but fitted in the upper body.

Lashanda Wildgoose, sponsored by Pyramid Construction wore a beautiful sequined form-fitted gown; Natasha Miller, sponsored by Under Water Dream wore a beautiful peach gown; Shequera King sponsored, by La Vie Theaters wore a beautiful one-sleeved red gown; Antonneisa Moxey, sponsored by Spartacular Bahamas wore a beautiful flowing gown; Jillian Lightbourne, sponsored by Parris Whittaker wore a beautiful white gown with a split down the side; and Regine Simmons, sponsored by Designs by Jennifer wore a forest-green flowing off-the-shoulder gown.

The swimsuit segment, with suits sponsored by The Art of Giving was very exciting as the contestants have worked extremely hard getting their bodies in shape for this competition, thanks to the help of Charmaine McNabb who motivated and trained the contestants.

All the contestants were heartily supported by the many family members and friends that came out to lend their support and cheer them on. Would like to say thanks to The Boat House Boutique, Grand Bahama Yacht Club all the sponsors of the contestants and members of the Miss Grand Bahama Organization.

It all winds up this weekend, as one of the six lovely young ladies will be crowned on Sunday. Judge interviews with contestants take place on May 25th. This year's judges are Stacey Bradley, Jackie White, Kevin Griffith, Doreen Plummer and Irene Ranger. They certainly have their work cut out for them!
