Thank you to those who came out and supported us at the BHS/Pedigree Animal Fun Day! We saw many people and dogs at this event and a great time was had by all. The grey clouds only helped keep it cooler and kindly didn't drop much rain on us. Together you helped us raise over $7,000 for the BHS.

Coming up this weekend, the Thrift Shop is holding a sale tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come out and check out the bargains. If you have items to donate, please feel free to bring them along. On Saturday, May 25th, we will be holding a memorial for Jill & Ron Gandza, still sadly missed by the many that knew them. Please join us at Compass Point at 4 p.m. to share your memories. Appetizers will be served and there will be a cash bar. If possible, please give the BHS a call (or reply here) to RSVP as we'd like to have an idea of the numbers we might expect.

On Saturday, June 1st, the Meah Foundation will be hosting a Music Festival on Charlotte Street. Proceeds for this event will be going to The Bahamas Humane Society and The Bahamas Down Syndrome Association. Tickets are $100. Summer camp starts on June 24th! Have you registered yet? Camp runs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to noon, June 24th to July 26th, and is for children ages 6 - 13. Cost is $125/week. We watch educational DVDs, read stories and poems, walk dogs, and play with kittens and puppies. Please bring a snack and drink. Register at the BHS. Planning ahead: The Great Gatsby Party will be held on November 30th at Jacaranda House. Step back into the 1920's for an enchanting evening. Music by the Fred Munnings Band Visa Versa. There will be a silent auction and raffle prizes. Tickets $150. Mark your calendars now!

Seeking: We are in search of a small car for our vet to drive. With the demise of our main ambulance, we need our smaller vehicle on the road attending emergencies and complaints, leaving our vet without a vehicle. If you have one you would be able to loan or donate, it would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you have ideas or connections that would help us repair/replace our main ambulance, please contact Inspector Grant at the BHS. Thank you.

Seeking: The BHS is looking to buy a much-needed autoclave. Ours has served us well but has finally stopped working. Currently, we are fluid sterilizing our instruments which is costing the vets and techs valuable time. In order to maintain a high spay/neuter & surgery practice, we are looking for an affordable autoclave. Anybody with ideas, or with connections in the medical field, please contact us! Thank you.
