Honoring Hubert Ingraham

January 14, 2013

Dear Editor,

As is commonly said in our Bahamaland: "Give a man his flowers while he is alive so that he can smell and enjoy them." I read an article in The Guardian on Saturday, January 12, 2013, stating that Perry G. Christie would like to knight former Prime Minister Hubert A. Ingraham.

If in fact the prime minister really wants to pay homage to the former prime minister, I implore Perry G. Christie to name both the airport and the administrative buildings in Abaco after former Prime Minister Hubert A. Ingraham, as this would not only show true Bahamian patriotism to a man who has done so much for this country, but also political maturity. - Kristen R. C. Farrington
