Miss Grand Bahama Prepares to Leave for Colombia

FREEPORT, Bahamas - Miss Grand Bahama 2012, Kristie Farah is preparing for the Miss International Coffee Beauty Contest.

The 42nd International Coffee Beauty Contest will be held in Manizales, Colombia from January 6th to the 13th, 2013. Manizales is located in the center of the Colombian Andes, and this year Manizales is preparing to host their 57th version of its traditional Manizales Festivities (Feria de Manizales) celebrating the regions cultural heritage.

Miss Grand Bahama has been busy working out at the YMCA fitness gym, a Miss Grand Bahama sponsor for many years thanks to Mrs. Karon Johnson, Executive Director.

Kristie said she is very excited to represent her country, and she is looking forward to having the full support from the Bahamian community. Miss Grand Bahama is the proud daughter of Mrs. Stacey Williams and Mr. Demarco Farah. She stands 5’ 8” tall, and her hobbies are dance, soccer, tutoring and swimming.

Miss Grand Bahama's plans for the next five years are to continue to pursue her bachelor's degree in Biology. While doing so she will further herself in community building affairs, volunteering her time and offering her skills to those in need. Ms Farah, within Five years would also like to further her experience in the field of pageantry by participating in other pageants. At age six Kristie won her first pageant in her category Cinderella Bahamas pageant, after winning Kristie travel to Les Vegas to compete in the Cinderella scholarship pageant with some eighty contestants in her category she also capture some awards. Kristie graduated with honours from Grand Bahama Catholic High School.

Kristie is a member of the Alpha Lamba Delta Honor Society and is a Cancer Association Volunteer. Miss Grand Bahama's platform is "Cancer Awareness."

Miss Grand Bahama leaves January 6, 2013 for Manizales Colombia, and will return on January 13, 2013.
