Nassau, Bahamas – One lucky Bahamian is the winner of $5,000, and thousands of other winners are walking around with a little extra cash in their pockets, extra gas in their car tanks, extra groceries on their shelves and even top of the line Apple products thanks to KFC Nassau’s Scratch and Win promotion. Michael Todd, a regular and loyal KFC customer for over 40 years, walked away on Tuesday having won the promotion’s grand cash prize.

Mr. Todd’s name was called to the cheers of KFC staff and customers alike at a celebratory event at KFC Marathon Rd., the culmination of the 6-week promotion that ran from September 24th to November 4th. When collecting his cheque, Mr. Todd reminisced fondly about being one of the first KFC customers to frequent the then-brand new Robinson Rd. location in 1971.

The celebratory grand prize drawing was accompanied with a live remote on 100 Jamz, KFC trivia giveaways and even the appearance of KFC’s mascot, Chicky, all of which helped draw substantial crowds to the decorated and festive KFC Marathon Rd. location.

Throughout the promotion a buzz of excitement could be felt as customers purchased their favorite KFC menu items to receive a scratch card that gave them a chance to instantly win an assortment of fantastic and delicious prizes, including the grand prize of $5,000. With such great prizes as Apple products from Micronet, including MacBooks, iPods and iPads, Shell gas vouchers, Phil’s Food Services’ food vouchers, cash prizes and even menu favorites from KFC, customers enjoyed the chance to experience those amazing wins.

“We want to ensure that all of our customers have a pleasantly memorable experience when visiting our locations, not only through good service and quality food, but also through our promotions. With this Scratch and Win promotion we were able to add more fun and excitement to the experience of KFC,” said Gabriel Sastre, Vice President and General Manager of Restaurants (Bahamas) Ltd. - KFC Nassau’s franchise holder. "The great thing about this Scratch and Win promotion is that it rewarded thousands of our lucky customers for simply purchasing the food that they and their family know and love.”

Empress of 100 Jamz calls the name of the Grand Prize winner on-air, while KFC staff and customers look on.
