Family Guardian and the Barracuda Swim Club have partnered again this year to host the 27th Annual Family Guardian Swim Meet to be held at the Betty Kelly Kenning National Swim Complex, on November 2 and 3, 2012. As a corporate sponsor, Family Guardian, a leading provider of financial services in The Bahamas, has supported the Barracuda Swim Club for the past 26 years, and continues to help build the sport of swimming in The Bahamas.
The swim meet starts on Friday at 6 p.m., and the swimmers are excited and eager to get back into competition. This swim meet is the first meet locally since the RBC Bahamas National Swimming Championships which were held in June. The swimmers have trained hard all summer and are ready to put those skills and techniques that they have developed in the competition pool.
This swim meet is the last qualifying meet that will allow swimmers to become eligible for the Speedo Winter Championships to be held in Plantation, Florida, from November 15-18, 2012. The Barracuda Swim Club already has 29 swimmers who have qualified, and they are looking to add to this number after the meet this weekend.
The Barracuda Swim Club is a parent-run club that continues to grow. According to reports, the swimmers are enthusiastic about coming to practices and they are all training very hard. The club has both excellent Learn-to-Swim and competitive programs, and looks forward to a great swim year. The Head Coach is Sue Coleby and she is assisted by senior competitive coach Travano McPhee.
