GBPC restoration efforts were challenged by extensive flooding in key areas.Freeport, Grand Bahama (October 29) -- Grand Bahama Power Company wishes to advise the public that our primary focus continues to be on our restoration efforts. We have restored power to approximately 90% of customers and continue to work hard on restoring power to customers that are still affected.

We also have crews assigned to addressing isolated outages and power related issues. We wish to advise customers in the Lincoln Green 2 & 5, Queen's Cove, parts of Derby, Windermere, and Pine Bay areas, that Grand Bahama Port Authority Technical Department's Building and Inspection unit has instructed us not to energize those areas until they have completed their inspections.

Customers in East Grand Bahama experienced extensive flooding damage that hindered our restoration efforts as well as significant pole damage to our main transmission line on Grand Bahama Highway.  We continue to work on rebuilding that transmission line so that we can begin to restore power to those customers.
