Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - At the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Jamaican Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller is making an Official Visit to Canada from October 21 to 26.

The Jamaican Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Honourable Arnold J. Nicholson, QC and other senior Government officials.

The visit provides an opportunity to express their best wishes on the 50th  anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between Canada and Jamaica. Prime Minister Harper also used the occasion to offer congratulations, on behalf of the people of Canada, to Prime Minister Simpson Miller and the People of Jamaica, on Jamaica's attainment of fifty years of independence...
