Freeport, Grand Bahama -- From the start of the Regatta season in the Family Islands the Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company has sponsored both the Sands Beer 'Man in the Boat' Sculling races as well as the E-Class Regatta races. They continued this tradition in Grand Bahama, while here for the Sculling National Championships, proud to support Bahamian culture.

"The Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Co., has put its name behind the Truly Bahamian Regatta's this year," said Lynden Johnson, Sales and Marketing Manager of Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company. "Our company was founded on the principals of Bahamians first and when we give back to the community we want it to support our heritage!" Grand Bahama E-class sailing began on Sunday morning but was suspended due to weather issues and restarted in the afternoon.

The E-class boats built by Sheldon Gibson are named after the brewery products; Sands, Sands Light, High Rock and Strong Back. An additional E-class vessel also races, called "Ole' Faithful', and these 12-foot E Class boats are all built by hand, from wood found in local forests - making them 'Truly Bahamian' like the beer company that sponsors them.
