Thank you to those who came out and supported the BHS on Saturday at the Goodfellow Farms Family Fun @ the Farm! Many people enjoyed steel drum music, tasty food, and good company for an evening out in support of the animals. There was a raffle and a silent auction, both well-supported. Thank you to Goodfellow Farms for hosting this event. There will be more in future so we'll be certain to keep you posted. You'll find photos here
NPCC's Summer Celebration, also on Saturday, was a hot day but a fun one. Several of the adoption dogs and two puppies made it out for the occasion and had a good time. Thank you to all those who brought the dogs and pups. Thank you, too, to Maria, for helping at the table and to NPCC for inviting us to join their event. You'll find a couple of slideshows HERE and HERE
Coming up next week on Wednesday, June 20th is this month's Quiz Night at Green Parrot, Nassau side. The quiz begins at 7:30 so be sure to register by 7 p.m. You can register the night of or email firstname.lastname@example.org to pre-register. Please be certain to write this date down as it's on Wednesday, not the traditional Tuesday! This means that along with the usual menu, you'll be able to celebrate Mexican night while you answer exciting trivia questions and support the BHS.
Thursday, June 21st is the next Operation Potcake meeting to be held at 6 p.m. at the BHS Shelter. Please feel welcome to attend if you have an interest in helping out with this spay and neuter campaign.
Summer camp begins on Monday, June 25th. If you haven't yet registered, please do so as soon as possible. Camp runs for six weeks and campers must be between the ages of 6 and 12. Cost is $125.00 per week and includes a t-shirt. More details can be found in the attached flyer.
Submissions are now being accepted for the 2012 Fine Image Summer Fun Photography Contest. Information and the entry form are attached. Please feel free to print the info flyer and hang it at your office/local bulletin board/desk!

If you're cleaning house or clearing cupboards, don't forget the BHS! We can always use old towels (any size). We also collect cans for Cans for Kids (12,000+ lbs last quarter!) and the funds raised through that go to the education program as well as to our upcoming summer camp. The Thrift Shop is currently in need of food store bags, and food store stamps are welcomed in order to purchase pet food for those who are unable to afford it. Thank you for your support.
Did you know? It costs approximately $2,700/day to run the BHS Shelter! Are you a member? If not, why not? Join us today. Membership is our bread and butter (and kibble, too!).
