Carl W. Bethel was born in Nassau in 1961. He was educated at Queen’s College and St. Andrew’s School in Nassau, Wilton House and Yately Manor in the United Kingdom, Lester B. Pearson College, Canada (International Baccalaureate), the London School of Economics (LL.B Hons.) and Holborn Law Tutors, London, England. Mr Bethel is a barrister and counsellor and attorney-at-law who was called to the Bar of England and Wales and The Bahamas Bar in 1985.

 

Hope Strachan PLP Progressive Liberal Party

Senator C.V. Hope Strachan nee Ingraham, was born December 1, 1960 on the island of New Providence.  Her list of civic and professional accomplishments includes; – Acting Circuit and Stipendiary Magistrate 1995-2000 – Member of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Constitutional Reform (Present Administration) – Member of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission – Chairman of the New Providence Port Authority Board – Member of the Zonta Club of New Providence – Member of the St. Augustine’s College PTA – Member of the St. Agnes Anglican Church Women (ACW).

 

Alfred Poitier DNA Democratic National Alliance

Alfred L. Poitier was born April 12, 1970 on the island of Grand Bahama. He began his career as a Customer Service Representative at the Commonwealth Bank, which was followed by a position at the Royal Bank of Canada as an Assistant Manager in the Credit Department. Alfred later served as Special Projects Officer at the Bahamas Development Bank, Investment Manager for Global Life Assurance Ltd., and Branch Manager for the British American Bank.  From 2002 to present, he has held the position of the Chief Executive Officer at the National Workers Cooperative Credit Union (NWCCUL).

 

Brenda T. Harris BCP Bahamas Constitution Party

Brenda Harris was born on April 17, 1970 to George Harris (deceased) and Cecelia Walker Harris. She is the 6th out of 8 siblings, her early childhood is rooted in the St. Cecilia Constituency.   She is a proud mother of one daughter. Brenda started her early education at Yellow Elder Primary, S.C. McPherson Junior High and graduated in 1987 from C.C. Sweeting Senior High School. With a determination to gain higher education Brenda enrolled in the College of the Bahamas where she graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting in 1994.
