New prostate cancer tests show alarming trend

Twenty-two percent of the men screened for prostate cancer during a one month-period in 2009 had abnormal levels of prostate-specific antigens(PSA), a marker for the cancer, according to recently released statistics.
According to the information that was compiled by the Us Too Bahamas Chapter, which advocates early education and treatment of prostate cancer, the illness continues to be a major concern for Bahamian men over the age of 60.
Since 2004, Us Too has provided prostate cancer screening for 2,689 men.
