This will make the third year that the Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN) will be hosting its annual fun day and cookout. For the JBLN, fundraising is a very important aspect as it helps the league gain proper funding to help the all those involved have a better experience.
The JBLN motto is "Youth is Priority", and that has held true for over 23 years. The league has grown through leaps and bounds over the past 23 years and is very excited to have started hosting these fun days to not only promote the family atmosphere, but show off the talented youth baseball and softball players that are a part of the league.
The 3rd Annual Fun Day and Cookout will take place this coming Saturday, March 17, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Field of Dreams Complex, located at the Nassau East entrance. There will be fun for everyone, including steak and chicken dinners for $10, baseball and softball action all day, bouncing castles, face painting, etc. The league has already started distributing tickets through league players, parents and coaches. They will also be available at all QVS Pharmacy locations. Thanks to the following sponsors, a radio station will be provided at the Field of Dreams Complex from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. with a live remote: Family Guardian, Frito Lay, Glass & Accessories, Haliborange (Nassau Agencies Ltd.), Gatorade, Easy Car Sales, Cable Bahamas, Fun Foods Wholesale, Coca-Cola (Caribbean Bottling Co.), and Aitken Imaging Sign Shop.
To cap off the day there will be a girls softball game aired live on radio. That game will feature the Seven Seas Oilers taking on the Sports Center Players, beginning at 7 p.m. It will be the first JBLN girls softball game to be aired live on the radio. The public is asked to come out and join the JBLN family at the Field of Dreams Complex for an exciting day of fun, food, and sports, on March 17 from 12 noon.
