In red gowns designed by 10 local designers, 10 leading ladies will take the runway on Saturday, February 11 at The Red Dress Soirée, for a fashion related event with a charitable backbone.
Janet Bostwick, Joann Callender, Sandra Dean-Patterson, Karen Goodfellow, Maria Govan, Tanya McCartney, Arlene Nash-Ferguson, Elaine Pinder, Tonique Williams-Darling and Sharon Wilson will be featured in a runway presentation in their specially designed gown, for the fashion-related event with a charitable backbone.
Presented by The Bahamas AIDS Foundation and Primadona, the event highlights the trailblazing women representing various industries. The Red Dress Soiree will be held at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Bahamas AIDS Foundation, specifically their work with adolescents infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
"The foundation is delighted to partner with Primadona to host this unique event which combines the creativity of the local designers with recognition of some of the leading ladies in our country. All of this while at the same time raising funds for a very worthy cause," said Lady Camille Barnett, president of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation.
Creating one-of-a-kind gowns for each leading lady will be Javotte Bethel, Apryl Burrows, Phylicia Ellis, Sabrina Francis, Patrice Lockhart, duo Cardell McClam and Christopher John, Indira Moss, David Rolle and Theodore Sealy.
The Bahamas AIDS Foundation has recently started to work with adolescents infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. Five days a week after school, the adolescents are provided with educational tutoring, psychosocial intervention, peer support, job training and placement, a snack and a hot meal, referral services, and individual and group counseling, all of which are directed to enable the adolescents to lead long, productive, healthy lives.
