At this year?s Valentine Art Exhibition, the Grand Bahama Artists Association memberships artworks come from art students, art teachers, full time, part time artists, fiber artist, figure sculpture and handmade paper artisans.

The Glory Banks Art Gallery is a great venue that allows for visual artists to be joined by performing artists and provide a platform for the all the great artistry that is available on the island. The Valentine mood will be enhanced by the musical artistic pleasures of the students from Orchestral School of Music, under the direction of Mr. Reynolds Robinson.

This opportunity to marry the visual and performing arts would please benefactor Glory Banks, herself an artist, who was anxious to give Grand Bahama, her adopted home, a centre for art. The Glory Banks Art Gallery was officially opened in February 2008 at the 100-acre nature preserve on East Settler?s way and has become the Centre for many cultural and educational exhibits.

The Grand Bahama Artists Association is a non-profit organization established in 1996. The GBAA mandate is to promote art and artists? development on Grand Bahama Island through art exhibitions and workshops. The Valentine Art Exhibition is an excellent opportunity to learn more about art.

The Valentine Art Exhibition at the Glory Banks Art Gallery continues until March 13, 2009 and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30 pm. Art educators are welcome to contact Miss Cecilia Bodie to set up a Valentine Art Exhibition gallery visit with their students.
