AFTER $23,000 in structural upgrades, Ben's Cave and Burial Mound in the Lucayan National Park, Grand Bahama, have reopened.

The protected caves and underwater caverns lie just east of Freeport. With the help of donors to the Bahamas National Trust, both Ben's Cave and the Burial Mound, located in the 40-acre Lucayan National Park , had structural upgrades to their accesses and platforms.

The historical caverns are one of the longest known underwater cave systems in the world, with over six miles of caves and tunnels that can take divers back under the island to resurface on the south shore, known as Gold Rock Beach.
