LOCAL contractors are worried their labour pool will be depleted when the $2.6 billion Baha Mar development begins construction and want assurances that they will be incorporated into the project alongside their workers.
According to Stephen Wrinkle, president of the Bahamian Contractors' Association, construction bosses want the luxury resort developers to shoulder some of the cost of training both contractors and construction workers, to ensure all in the industry receive the necessary qualifications to vie for jobs on the highly anticipated project.
