THE Government is waiting on a Canadian utility giant to submit a formal business plan for the Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC), the minister for the environment yesterday explaining the Ingraham administration wanted to accommodate its interest in the 100 per cent state-owned electricity supplier "without having a beauty contest forced upon us".
Again indicating that the Government would not privatise or sell any of its BEC equity without a formal privatisation process, Dr Earl Deveaux told Tribune Business that a five-person team from Emera, which already holds a 25 per cent stake in Grand Bahama Power Company, held a series of meetings ...
