Five Stabbed During Junkanoo Parade

Police reported at least five stabbing incidents during the Boxing Day Junkanoo parade and are appealing to young men to leave any weapons they would think of bringing to Junkanoo, at home.

Speaking to the press yesterday morning during the peak hours of the parade, Supt Stephen Dean of the National Crime Prevention Office made the request to young people, in particular young men.

"We had numerous incidents during the Junkanoo parade," he said. "At this point we can confirm about five minor stabbing incidents in the vicinity of the Junkanoo area."
