When Hurricane Irene touched down on Crooked Island earlier this year it left in its wake a badly damaged Crooked Island High School. Included in that damage was the school's computer lab, which was used by the entire student body and adults in the community.  On Tuesday, the school received a much-needed donation to help restore that facility. CFAL, a full range financial services company, donated computer equipment to fully outfit the lab, including five computers, a LCD projector and screen, modems, a wireless router, a scanner and a printer. CFAL has also pledged to donate an additional five computers in the coming months.

Anthony Ferguson, CFAL president, who attended Crooked Island High School, said the donation was aimed at helping the students of his alma mater and adults who take advantage of the school's community courses.  "CFAL is delighted to be able to help the school recover such an important facility that not only benefits students, but also the wider community," said Ferguson.
Crooked Island High School principal Jerome Forbes said, "This donation will go a long way in assisting us in getting our computer studies program back on track."

Not only was the donation a kind gesture, but it will benefit students long after they have left the classroom, said Crooked Island High School prefect Laquinton Armbrister.  Lillian Culmer-Miller, MICAL district superintendent, Ministry of Education, urged other corporate citizens to help students and education in the same manner as CFAL has done with the donation.
