This afternoon, Sunday 18th December, 2011, officers at the Central Detective Unit here in Freeport are continuing their investigations into a shooting incident that left a 38 year old resident of Freeport in 'serious' but stable condition at the Rand Memorial Hospital. At approximately 12:51pm this afternoon, uniform and plain clothes officers responded to a call to the Deadman's Reef area in West Grand Bahama where a man was shot.

The victim was transported to the named hospital via ambulance for medical attention. Initial reports are that three employees of Meat Market Produce & Convenience Store in the Friendship Shopping Center, Eight Mile Rock, were in the company's van when the driver was assisting one of the others to her residence in Deadman's Reef.
