Food as medicine: The Chinese way

IMAGINE arriving at a restaurant and being greeted at the door by the resident doctor. The food you can and cannot eat for the night would be prescribed based on the doctor's on-the-spot assessment.

Acupuncturist Dr Cairo Rocha, a practitioner of natural healing therapies for more than 25 years, said this was his experience in China, one of many traditional cultures that recognise that the food you eat is your medicine, if you choose wisely enough.
