Bahamas Speed Week cars shine as island tour kicks off events

(Photo credit Roland Rose)NASSAU, Bahamas -- Forty of the world's most valuable classic race cars took a spin around the island of New Providence Thursday as onlookers throughout New Providence took to the streets, listening for the sound of powerful engines and ogling the gleaming high-octane assets.
 
Several local entries are among those competing in the main events Saturday and Sunday.
Bleacher seat and fairground tickets for the sprints, hill climb and time trials are still available at the Coca-Cola van at Arawak Cay, major Shell stations, the Cricket Club, bahamasspeedweekrevival.com and by phoning (242) 676-4503.
