Governor General continues his message of One Bahamas in Abaco

(Photo courtesy of Kanishka Alexander)LITTLE GRAND CAY, Abaco -- Governor General His Excellency Sir Arthur Foulkes, accompanied by Joan Lady Foulkes, ended their official tour of Abaco and the Abaco Cays with a visit to the Grand Cay All-Age School where he continued his message of One Bahamas.

Sir Arthur reminded public school students: "While Abaco is the home where you live, no matter where you travel in The Bahamas, from Inagua, the island of my birth, to New Providence and every Family Island, you are still and always at home."

In an extensive tour of Abaco, the Governor General and Lady Foulkes visited with over a thousand students including at Treasure Cay Primary School, the Amy Roberts Primary School at Green Turtle Cay, Central Abaco Secondary School, Central Abaco Primary School, Man-O'-War Primary School and Hope Town Primary School.

Their Excellencies also visited Cherokee Sound Primary School, Crossing Rocks Primary School, Great Guana Cay Primary School, the James A. Pinder Primary School at Sandy Point and the Moore's Island All-Age School. It was the first visit of a Bahamian Governor General to Moore's Island.

Sir Arthur reminded students, administrators, teachers and invited guests: "Be aware of the totality of your Bahamian heritage and who and what you are as Bahamians. Be aware of our rich natural, historical and cultural heritage, and of our enduring national institutions.
