COAST GUARD CALLS OFF SEA SEARCH

THE US Coast Guard has called off the search for two men who are now feared dead after being missing at sea for more than 48 hours.

The Coast Guard, the Bahamas Air and Sea Rescue Association (BASRA) and the Defence Force had been searching for the men since early Monday.

BASRA spokesman Chris Lloyd said the search for the 45-year-old American man who was swept off of a cliff by a large wave at the Winding Bay Club in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, was called off around 2pm Tuesday.

A few hours later, the search for the 50 year old Haitian man who went missing after a boat capsized near Man-O-War key, was also suspended.
