Nassau, Bahamas -  The
Road Traffic Department has purchased two driving simulators which are
intended to become a part of the driver instruction process. Colin Higgs,
permanent secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport demonstrated
one of the simulators during a launch workshop for the introduction
of a Driver Instructor's Manual for The Bahamas on August 12.

Mr. Higgs
said the use of the simulators will bridge the gap between theory and
driving. He said the simulators will enable persons learning to drive
to become familiar with the basic skills of driving a car and at the
same time expose them to hazardous situations, thereby preparing them
for actual road conditions...
