Nassau, Bahamas - The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB), with the generous support of Sherwin‑Williams, proudly celebrated the creative legacy of Bahamian cultural icon Eddie Minnis this past week with a special exhibition event and the official launch of his new publication, Eddie Minnis Greatest Hits Songbook 1.
The launch marks an exciting new chapter in Minnis’ artistic journey, bringing his beloved music to a new generation in written form. And with the title boldly labeled Songbook 1, fans are already asking the obvious question: Does this mean Songbook 2 is on the way? While Minnis has not yet made an official announcement, the anticipation alone speaks to the enduring love Bahamians have for his work.
Youth Art Competition Celebrates Minnis’ Influence
As part of the celebration, students from across The Bahamas were invited to create original artwork inspired by Minnis’ iconic songs from The Buffet to Naughty Johnny. The result was a vibrant showcase of imagination, storytelling, and cultural pride, proving once again how deeply Minnis’ music resonates with young Bahamians.

Pot Luck Exhibition Continues Through July 12
Guests are encouraged to visit the NAGB to experience Pot Luck, the exhibition featuring works by Eddie Minnis, on display through July 12. The show offers a rare opportunity to explore Minnis’ artistic range his music, his paintings, and the cultural stories that have shaped generations.
