A global spotlight awaits a group of young Bahamians whose talent and discipline have earned international acclaim. Ensuring they are ready to meet that moment is already becoming a shared national effort, with the first corporate contribution being made by CIBC Caribbean.

The bank recently presented the first donation in support of the Bahamas All Star Band following the band’s historic invitation to participate in the 41st London New Year's Day Parade in 2027.

The selection marks the first time a band from The Bahamas and the wider region has been invited to the internationally renowned parade. Held annually in London, the event attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators and reaches millions worldwide through broadcast coverage. It offers participating bands one of the most visible stages of the New Year.

CIBC Caribbean’s Acting Managing Director, Terrance Gibson, highlighted that the bank’s contribution aligns with its mission of investing in communities and young people.

Gibson said, “The Bahamas All Star Band represents hard work, resilience, and national pride. CIBC Caribbean is proud to be the first corporate partner supporting this historic journey and helping to ensure our youth are equipped to represent The Bahamas on the world stage.”

Director of Bands, Yonell Justilien, said the invitation reflects the Bahamas All Star Band’s long-standing focus on developing character through music.

“It reflects our commitment not only to perform music, but to nurturing character, discipline, teamwork, and leadership through the arts. For our students, this experience is transformational,” he said.

CIBC Caribbean’s early commitment provides vital financial support as the band begins preparations for travel and the many logistical requirements necessary to represent The Bahamas with excellence.
