Black Point Community Development & Regatta Association Formalizes Agreement for Construction of Community Center with Yntegra Group
The Black Point Community Development & Regatta Association is pleased to announce that it has formally executed an agreement with Yntegra Group, the developer of Rosewood Exuma, to support the construction and completion of the long-awaited Black Point Community Center.
This milestone follows months of collaboration and builds on the Association’s prior approval for the project to move forward. Over the past months, local agencies and consultants have been hired to assess project costs, labor requirements, and material needs, laying the groundwork for construction to begin.
The signed agreement now formalizes the partnership framework under which Yntegra Group will assist with construction while ensuring the facility remains fully community-owned and operated under the guidance of the Association and relevant local stakeholders.
The Black Point Community Center will serve as a dedicated space for community gatherings, youth activities, and events, while also functioning as a Category 5 hurricane-resilient shelter, addressing a longstanding need for safe and adequate emergency infrastructure on the island.
Deangelo Brown, President of the Black Point Community Development & Regatta Association, stated:
“This agreement represents a significant step forward for Black Point. For many years, our community has advocated for a dedicated space that brings people together and provides safety during storms. With this partnership now formalized, we are confident that this long-envisioned project is moving toward reality in a way that prioritizes the needs and ownership of our residents.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Yntegra Group will provide construction support, equipment, and logistical coordination, while working closely with the Association and government stakeholders throughout the process. The project is designed to ensure that the benefits remain rooted within the community, both through job creation and long-term use of the facility.
The Association extends its appreciation to Yntegra Group for their continued engagement and support and looks forward to the successful delivery of a community asset that will serve generations to come.
