CANTO is pleased to announce new highlights for CANTO Connect 2026 and 42nd Annual General Meeting, scheduled for February 1–3, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency.

Held under the theme “Elevate the Caribbean: From Connectivity to Global Competitiveness,” CANTO Connect 2026 will officially open on Sunday, February 1 with a formal Opening Ceremony, setting the tone for three days of high-level dialogue, collaboration, and strategic engagement focused on advancing the Caribbean’s digital future.

The Opening Ceremony will feature welcome remarks from Teresa Wankin, Secretary General of CANTO, and Delreo Newman, Chairman of CANTO, alongside a co-host address from Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), reflecting the strong regional partnership underpinning the event. Remarks from Diamond Sponsor Liberty Caribbean will further underscore private-sector commitment to regional digital transformation.

CANTO Connect 2026 will welcome a distinguished group of specially invited ministers and senior policymakers from across the region. Among them are The Honourable Diallo Rabain, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation of Bermuda; The Honourable Satyakama Maharaj, Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism of Trinidad and Tobago and The Honourable Dr. Michael Dowlath, Minister of Education of Trinidad & Tobago.

The Honourable Raymond Landveld, Minister of Transport, Communication and Tourism of the Republic of Suriname, is also set to participate at this year’s conference, marking his first engagement with CANTO. His presence underscores the region’s growing emphasis on collaboration, strategic connectivity, and coordinated policy approaches to advancing the Caribbean’s digital and economic agenda.

Anchored by a strong opening, the conference programme will continue through keynote addresses, roundtables, panel discussions, and industry spotlights aligned with the event’s anchoring concepts: Intelligent Connectivity, Digital Prosperity, Human Transformation, and Innovation with Identity. Collectively, these sessions will examine how the Caribbean can move beyond access to build scalable, secure, and globally competitive digital ecosystems that reflect regional priorities and strengths.

CANTO Connect 2026 is co-hosted by TSTT, and supported by a strong lineup of industry partners, reflecting sustained regional and international confidence in CANTO’s role as a convener of meaningful ICT dialogue.

For more than forty years, CANTO has brought together telecom operators, technology providers, regulators, policymakers, and innovators to shape the Caribbean’s ICT agenda. CANTO Connect remains one of the region’s most influential platforms for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships.
