Cable Bahamas Ltd. concludes its 3rd annual 'Stop Breast Cancer Awareness for Life Campaign', in partnership with Lifetime Networks(TM), tomorrow with a celebration of life.
The company's lobby has been outfitted for the month of October with pink decor and lighting, artistic photos of local breast cancer survivors, chest moldings and multiple point of purchase stands filled with pink ribbons and car decals.
This month Cable Bahamas has worked with the women of Sister Sister organization, as well as women from the community, to share their stories.
During the month, the company carried out a number of public awareness initiatives that highlighted the need for younger women to get tested much earlier, as there have been more cases of younger women being diagnosed with cancer.
The Lifetime Networks(TM) original movie called 'FIVE', under the executive directorship of Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, Demi Moore and Patty Jenkins, is an anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer and it was promoted by the company.
There were multiple public service announcements running across the company's cable channels, which included a staff member, Antonyche Cooper, 27, who was diagnosed earlier this year with breast cancer.
There was also a weekly special edition during the NB12 health segment, called 'Cancer Survivors: The New Look', that took an in-depth look at different young women who have been affected by the disease.
"The company is thankful to the many supporters of the campaign, especially the women of the Sister Sister Organization who've participated in this project since inception," it said in a release yesterday.  "Cable Bahamas Ltd. looks forward to using its resources next year in getting the simple but very important message to as many persons as possible - early detection, saves lives."
