The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) yesterday announced another new candidate for the upcoming general election and it has officially ratified two more.
The party has tapped petroleum retailer Gregory Burrows to run in the Montagu constituency.
It was previously announced that businessman Khaalis Rolle will run in Pinewood and mechanical engineer Renward Wells will run in Bamboo Town.
These latest ratifications bring the number of candidates the party has secured for the general election to 31. Burrows operates the Esso 'On the Run' South Beach location, and owns the Cleaning Center on Prince Charles Drive.
Burrows, a married father of two, is also the founding president of the Bahamas Baseball Federation.
Rolle, a married father of two, is a principal in Nassau Water Ferries Services Ltd., and serves as its chief marketing officer.
Wells, who owns an engineering firm, is a married father of five, and is a former track and field star.  He currently holds the national record in the 60 meters sprint.
A party statement noted that Opposition Leader Perry Christie said the three men represent a "generation of young, educated and professionally trained Bahamians who... believe in The Bahamas, possess diverse skill sets, have a vision for this country and a passion for public service...  Their contributions will serve both the PLP and The Bahamas well."
