CANTO, the premier telecommunications trade association in the Caribbean, proudly announces its milestone 40th Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition, to be held at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, The Bahamas from July 13th to 16th, 2025. This year’s event is themed “Towards a Unified and Sustainable Gigabit Society,” signaling a forward-looking vision for regional connectivity, innovation, and digital resilience.

CANTO 2025 will bring together leading policymakers, regulators, operators, academia, and technology innovators from across the globe for four days of meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. The event promises a dynamic agenda filled with insightful keynotes, panel discussions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, all against the stunning backdrop of the Bahamian archipelago.

We’re also pleased to welcome Liberty Caribbean as the Headline Sponsor for our 40th Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition. With a legacy dating back to the 1870s, Liberty Caribbean has been at the forefront of shaping the region’s telecommunications and entertainment industries — from pioneering telegraph lines to delivering today’s most advanced broadband, mobile, and video services. Their enduring commitment to innovation and regional growth aligns seamlessly with CANTO’s mission, making them an ideal partner as we chart the course for #CANTO2025

Also joining the distinguished lineup of partners are our Gold Sponsors — Bankai Group, Cable Bahamas & Aliv REV, Brava, One Communications and Clear Sky Technologies, alongside other supporting sponsors — each playing a pivotal role in advancing the region’s digital transformation. Their support underscores a shared commitment to innovation, connectivity, and the future of ICT in the Caribbean.

This year’s conference will feature an impressive delegation of regional leaders, including the Prime Minister of Bahamas, Hon. Philip Edward “Brave” Davis, Prime Minister of Grenada, Hon. Dickon Mitchell, and ministers from more than twelve Caribbean nations. Among the confirmed dignitaries are government ministers responsible for digital transformation, ICT, infrastructure, and economic development from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Dominica, Jamaica, Monsterrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos. Their participation underscores CANTO’s role as the premier regional platform for high-level ICT dialogue.

In a major highlight of this year’s conference, Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), are scheduled to attend and deliver keynote addresses. Their presence affirms the global relevance of CANTO’s mission and brings powerful perspectives on how the Caribbean can align with and contribute to international digital development goals. In addition, Thomas Sullivan, Chief of the FCC’s International Bureau, will lead a high-level discussion specifically targeting Caribbean regulators, focused on regulatory cooperation and policy modernization.

“The 40th anniversary of CANTO is more than a celebration of the past; it is a declaration of our collective ambition to shape the digital future of the Caribbean,” said Teresa Wankin, Secretary General of CANTO. “We look forward to welcoming our members and partners to Nassau as we continue building a region that is not only connected but empowered.”

Following the resounding success of CANTO 2024 in Miami—which hosted over 600 participants, 100 C-level leaders, 50+ companies, and 89 expert speakers—this year’s event is poised to exceed expectations, with a rich blend of cutting-edge content, business development opportunities, cultural experiences, and Caribbean hospitality.

The official agenda kicks off on Sunday, July 13th, with the highly anticipated Opening Ceremony and Exhibition Launch. Attendees can expect a dynamic line-up of thought-provoking sessions, curated networking experiences, and the always-anticipated Headline Sponsored Cocktail Reception. From Monday through Wednesday, July 14–16, the Exhibition Hall will buzz with cutting-edge technology, showcasing the latest breakthroughs in ICT, telecom infrastructure, digital finance, AI, cybersecurity, and more—all in one vibrant space designed to inspire and connect.

Attendees can also look forward to the “Regattas & Revelry: An Island Affair to Remember” event on Tuesday July 15th — proudly sponsored by Cable Bahamas and Aliv. This immersive evening will fuse the mystique of the 1920s prohibition era with the vibrant energy of The Bahamas’ regatta culture, promising an unforgettable close to #CANTO2025.

CANTO invites all stakeholders—from public sector leaders and telecom operators to start-ups and innovators—to “Get Involved, Engage, and Influence” the trajectory of the region’s digital economy.
