BloodPact is an innovative platform developed by Bahamian Mark Osman who is collaborating with Doctors Hospital to introduce lifesaving blood information technology to The Bahamas as a part of the upcoming World Blood Donor Day on Saturday, June 14.

BloodPact is a mobile-first digital platform revolutionizing the blood donation process by seamlessly connecting hospitals, blood banks, and the donor community in real time. Through the app, users can register to receive and broadcast alerts about urgent blood needs or nearby donation drives thereby enabling rapid response when every second counts. By replacing outdated manual systems and last-minute outreach with an intelligent, automated network, BloodPact empowers communities and healthcare providers to maintain a stable, efficient blood supply.

Osman introduced the platform to Doctors Hospital several months ago and has been meeting regularly with them to develop its integration into the Bahamian medical landscape. He is excited to have received their permission to work along with them to officially launch the app publically during their 3rd Annual Doctors Hospital Glow Blood Drive and Health Fair taking place on World Blood Donor Day, June 14.

Osman was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama, to Anita (Jones) Osman and the late Bernard Osman. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and later completed a Master’s degree in Business. In 2009, he authored the nation’s first Innovation Report, which was formally recognized by the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Hubert Ingraham. He currently resides in Hawaii, where he works as a consultant on a range of initiatives, including projects focused on state government modernization.

Osman’s father’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease made him realize the crucial importance of blood donations to stabilize his condition, and he made a decision to develop a global digital app that would get rid of the tedious use of manual logs and last-minute calls for blood drives on social media. His mission was to develop and offer the user-friendly efficient app free of charge to The Bahamas to change the face of blood donations.

“I am thrilled that Doctors Hospital has allowed me to collaborate with them to launch this app through their hospital on World Blood Donor Day. Sign-up for BloodPact is a simple, easy process and it can be used around the world,” stated Osman. “We look forward to signing up many users during and after the event so that BloodPact becomes the app of choice in The Bahamas.”
