BTC engages in shareholder’s meeting with PM

BTC recently engaged in a significant meeting with the Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, The Hon. Philip Davis, and members of his leadership team. During the discussions, BTC provided updates on upcoming capital projects including plans for a major upgrade and development of communications infrastructure across the Family Islands.

A key highlight of the partnership between BTC and the Government of The Bahamas is the JUMP program. This initiative aims to provide over 5,000 families with internet connectivity, free access to laptops and digital skills training. The program is designed to bridge the digital divide and empower communities with essential technological resources.

BTC expressed its commitment to maintaining a strong collaboration with the Government, which is also a major shareholder in the company. The meeting was attended by senior executives from BTC’s parent companies, including Liberty Latin America CEO, Balan Nair, CWC CEO and BTC Board Chair Inge Smidts, Deputy Chair, Valentine Grimes, and BTC CEO Sameer Bhatti.
